I'm fixing to run this with a heaping helping of Dark Tower. I'm going to call the psychic maelstrom "the dream gone wrong" as a kind of dark reflection of "the world moved on"

Is there room for changes to the basic Fronts?  It seems like there'd be room for ... I don't know, something different.  Like a war between factions motivated more by clashing ideals than by scarcity (i.e. American civil war in miniature?)
