On page 37 of the pdf (I'm looking at singles) it says:

Season Advances are a big deal. They allow a character
to rewrite their nature, to become a different kind of
monster, or to grow up. They allow a player to change
characters altogether, or to take on a second character.

Then it lists the options for season advances, but doesn't include the option to take on a second character.

Ah!

1.) That's an artifact of past editions, and is no longer true.

2.) I'll add it to the list of typos and fix it for the print edition (and PDF update).

3.) At one point, I thought it'd be a good Season Advance, because you can do it in Apocalypse World. Turns out no. In Monsterhearts, the game benefits from a tight emotional focus and the ability to build on inner turmoil. Having multiple characters to switch between undermines that.
